David leads financial planning at Doxa Capital, serving as a “personal CFO” for the families Doxa works with — one point of contact who sees the entire financial picture and keeps every piece of it pushing toward the same goal. He thinks in scenarios, not spreadsheets: the career change, the equity windfall, the year both kids hit college. The more complex the situation, the bigger the difference careful planning makes — and the more he’s in his element.
Before co-founding Doxa, David spent ten years at Morgan Stanley advising families across Northern Virginia. A graduate of Johnson & Wales University, he lives in Falls Church with his wife, Natalie, their twin daughters, Olivia and Sofia, and their son, James.
What’s something people don’t know about you?
“Two things I never turn down: a round of golf and a chance to coach kids. The best days are the ones where I get to do both at once.”
Chase has been the CIO at Doxa Capital since 2015, navigating client portfolios through bull markets, bear markets, and the COVID reset in between. His framework hasn’t changed: deep research, structural understanding, and long-term thinking in an increasingly short-term world.
Chase began his career at a small hedge fund in Charleston, SC, then joined Morgan Stanley in Washington, DC as an associate portfolio manager. He is a CFA® charterholder, holds a certification in advanced valuation from NYU Stern, and earned a B.S. in Economics from the College of Charleston. He lives in Charlotte with his wife, Alex, and is a proud #girldad of two, Delaney and Sloane.

“I grew up playing sports, and the competitive switch never found its off button. These days it’s a Tuesday night flag football league and tennis with the kids.”
